I Heart Democracy

Control of the abortifacient RU486 has been removed from the hands of the health minister and given to the TGA.

Suki reminds us that it was four women who made this a public issue once more and drove the private member's bill. Good on them, and a round of applause for Lyn Allison especially.

It's a good day for both our democracy and for womens' rights to make their own choices.

I was pleased to see that it got through and will be considered on its medical merits, not the court of public opinion and one sided religious beliefs

Agreed with your sentiments exactly. And what is religion pervading our parliament anyway?

Worrying trend...
