I think I'm all pollied out.
Here's some dogblogging instead. The photos were taken when we flew to Sydney before Christmas. That, in case you were wondering, is my poor little dog, shivering in the cool pre-dawn breeze at Perth domestic airport. I was enjoying a nice latte in the gate lounge when I saw her. (Actually, we were very stressed about how she'd cope with the whole thing. JW chewed his nails down to bloody stubs and I turned into a twitchy almost teary mess.)
She doesn't look impressed about being towed around the airport on the back of the little truck. By this point she'd already been in the cage for about an hour. Our biggest concern at this point was that she'd *ahem* lose control of her bowel and they'd call us out onto the tarmac to clean it up. They do that because otherwise the smell drifts through the whole airplane, according to the nice lady at the freight company. No-one explained what would happen if she pooped mid-flight. Luckily this did not happen.
"There's a half-chewed dog toy in it for you if you bust me outta here!"
"Noooo!"
And then she disappeared into the belly of the plane and we didn't see her again until about an hour and a half after we landed in Sydney.
I can report that she suffered no adverse affects from the whole experience. Here she is a mere 24 hours later playing with my parents' dog, Missy:

So they would let you out on the tarmac, & into the vicinity of a cargo hold in the process of being loaded, to pick up dogshit? Must remember that next time I want to er, do something naughty involving an aeroplane.
Those are very heart rending pictures by the way. Well done not dropping the camera in convulsive floods of tears.
I posted your posters today, BTW.

That's the impression the freight staff gave us -- the helpful woman who worked there told me to keep my mobile on "just in case". I hope I'm not in trouble if any terrorists henceforth employ the "dog shit ruse".
Looking forward to receiving the posters.
