Last night I unhooked the computer from the Internet (and moved myself into the kitchen so I couldn't even think about putting the LAN cable back in, thank goodness I haven't shelled out for wireless) and did some heavy duty writing. Continued in that vein this morning over coffee and porridge and I've finished one story plus a solid draft for the job due on Tuesday.
I work tomorrow arvo so I figure I can use tomorrow morning and evening for tidying up the draft, then write the last story on Tuesday morning before work.
I'm sure you're all fascinated by this, but I think it shows me just how much time I was wasting while dicking around online. I knew that anyway, but I think I might try to move myself into the kitchen more often, and limit my time with teh Internets to a couple of hours of an evening.
*Raucous laughter from the stalls, and one rotten tomato thrown by a skeptic*
I did wake up with a start this morning with the realisation that I'd mixed up my due dates for a job application and missed the cut-off, which is shitty, but it's done now and there's nothing I can do to make it Friday again to get the application in on time. Why did this come into my mind THIS morning instead of on, say, Thursday?
Anyway, here's a photo of my shoes:
Shoe audit: 22 pairs (not all are visible) and only two are heels.
I reorganised my cupboard, which was a good sign that my mental health is on the way up. It sounds rather trivial, but I know I'm sliding into a bit of a hole when I stop caring about things like making the bed and being able to find stuff in the kitchen and whether or not you can see the floor through the dog hair.
Don't go getting the impression that I'm a tidy person -- I'm not -- but when I am depressed I find it almost impossible to tidy my shoes, or wipe down the sink, or eat anything other than toast. When I'm feeling reasonably sane, I will actually fold laundry and cook dinner and do those normal people things.
So yes, I have been in a bit of a unhappy place lately but things are getting better, I think.
Here's a bonus shot of Jazzy investigating something in the garden. Yes, we need to weed.
