I expect this blog will be a little bit quiet for the next few weeks: I'm travelling home for Christmas the Secular Humanist Day of Giving, and taking JW and Jasperella the uber-hund with me, of course.
JW and I are both simple country folk, harking from small towns in north-western NSW where the wheat grows and there are more sheep, cattle and dogs than there are people. Out there, the men drink bundy and rum and the women do too; dusty moleskins and a pair of RM Williams boots are the appropriate attire (what will they think of my blue stompin' boots?) and if you don't like country music you can just fark off back to the city!
Since these out of the way places are not well-serviced by the telecommunicative wonders of the modern age, Internet access shall be spotty at best, non-existant at worst. I don't even have mobile phone reception at JW's mother's place! Oh the humanity!
In short: I won't be updating much until mid to late January.
Which sucks, because I like blogging, I like my bloggy mates, I like it when you comment, and I hope spotty posting won't make you all forget about me. *sobs*
Anyway, I'll leave you with two things. One: a dog photo. (PET BLOGGING RULES OK!) And two, the traditional Kate family farewell: look after yourself, wear your seatbelt, and be careful.
Hope you have a good Xmas. It's going to be damned hot out in country NSW for the next few weeks.

Happy giving, Kate...is spotty blogging a sign of menopause?

I like your family farewell - it's more consistent than my family's, which is: "have fun and stay out of trouble". Happy holidays, Kate!
