Because I am missed 'em the first time around because I didn't read Pav's post properly, here are the extra 15 questions of that super-size meme.
1. What shirt are you wearing?
My pink Grates T-shirt that I bought at the Big Day Out. It has a squirrel on it, and a pine tree with a worried expression.
2. Name the brand of your shoes you're currently wearing?
Converse. (Are you getting a mental picture of my incredibly adult fashion sense?)
3. Bright or Dark Room?
Bright. I am sitting in a North-facing sleepout with louvres, which is a very pleasant spot in winter but in summer it gets really hot because there's no insulation. I need a wireless Internet thingy so I can relocate my computer to the much cooler lounge room once summer arrives.
4. What do you think about the person who took this survey before you?
Pav or Elsewhere? I think they are very intelligent, and excellent writers, and generally seem to be the sort of person I'd like to be one day.
5. Where is your nearest 7-11?
I think there's a 7-11 somewhere in Perth, but I don't know where and I can't be arsed finding out.
6. Who told you he/she loved you last?
JW did on the phone.
7. How many drugs have you done in the last three days?
I have taken some prescription medication, had one beer, several cups of coffee and absolutely nothing illegal at all. I don't generally dabble in mood-altering chemicals which I think is a good move for anyone with a personal history of depression and a family history of complete and utter insanity.
8. How many rolls of film do you need developed?
About seven.
9. What do you do when vending machines steal your money?
I swear then resign myself to being $1.70 poorer.
10. Are you touchy feely?
No. I am very much not, unless it is with animals or small children. But with adult humans -- no. In fact, I often joke about giving people 'Awkward Kate Hugs' because I am quite the repressed anglo-saxon.
11. Name three things that you have on you at all times?
A ring. My glasses. An asthma puffer.
12. What was the last thing you paid for with cash?
Lunch at Manna Wholefoods in South Freo a couple of days ago, I think. It was a delicious mixture of salads with lots of wholesome hippy ingredients like qunioa and miso.
13. Does anything hurt on your body right now?
My 'good' knee, which is hugely bruised and swollen because I tripped the other day and it broke my fall on the hard wooden floor.
14. How much cash do you have on you?
About 30 cents. I am notorious for never carrying cash and often have to dash to find an ATM at the most inconvenient moments.
15. What's a word that rhymes with “DOOR?”
Amour. I think.
Well, I wish I could have been you before I grew up, I'm sure!
Hey, do you know anything about this Sony camera: http://www.sony.com.au/dis/catalog/product.jsp?categoryId=34306
Dell are offering it to me for $900. I'm interested, because of the anti-dust thing (dust being a big issue out here) but don't know anything about Sony's track record with SLRs.

Naturally I must now answer these questions immediately.
Why are these things so addictive?

Well, Sony's never made a DSLR before, but they bought out Konica Minolta's camera business, which had a few models (the Dynaxx series, I think they were called). So it's Sony's first, but using Konica Minolta technology.
It's getting some good reviews about the place: http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/92164/sony-dslra100.html
The anti-dust systems are good, and they're becoming more common: apparently Olympus does a good one too. But my understanding is that they're not a foolproof solution and in a super-dusty environment you're still going to get particles in the body every time you change the lens.
Anyway, the pricing does look good for the alpha -- compare that to the pricing for the Nikon D80, which is also 10MP. Though I would be a little bit concerned about limited lens choices personally, though in practice it's not such a huge deal.
I'm not sure if any of that is helpful. I'm personally hanging out for the D80, but I really like Nikon and have been really impressed with the D70s I've been near. I think Nikkor lenses are also damn fine.

And here's a round-up of all the newest D-SLR reviews. The doods ate CNET are pretty good value and their reviews are generally reasonably trustworthy.

Thanks. That's a lot of food for thought. I shall peruse carefully, esp as a some time Nikon fan.
